The German-American Heritage Foundation (GAHF) is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history, culture, and contributions of Americans of German-speaking ancestry. Since its founding in 1977, the Foundation has worked to strengthen cultural ties, promote education, and highlight the role of German immigrants and their descendants in shaping the United States.
Our Foundation proudly operates the German-American Heritage Museum of the USA™, located in historic Hockemeyer Hall in Washington, D.C. Opened in 2010, the museum serves as a national center for exhibitions, events, and educational programs that explore the diverse experiences of German-Americans across centuries.
Through exhibitions, lectures, cultural events, and publications, GAHF fosters dialogue and awareness of the enduring impact of German-American traditions. We invite you to visit the museum, become a member, and join us in our mission to honor the past while inspiring future generations.
